The Hobby Stop Movie:

Story Overview

Brad Loews has a problem: After taking off from college to run the family business and putting Bree through four years at Clemson he should be able to return to Tech and finish his degree, shouldn’t he?  With an uncooperative sister and loan deferments hanging over his head Brad has the rest of the summer to find someone he can trust to run The Hobby Stop.

Pitch

The Hobby Stop is envisioned as a screwball comedy, which is a genre made popular in the 1940s and 50s and has a proven track record of success.  The acting and the main storyline are dramatic in nature while the humor emerges from the events surrounding the plotline.

Marketing

Marketing is a key factor to the success of any film, yet most independent filmmakers only consider marketing after their film is made.  Worse yet, some believe it to be the purview of the distributor and don't take it into consideration at all.

To be successful, the product itself must be marketable. The story itself should feature various elements that will work well in a traditional advertising campaign as well as quips and catch phrases that fuel a word of mouth campaign.  Great care was taken in crafting The Hobby Stop's screenplay and project to create as many marketable facets as possible.  These elements will be a key factor in a distributors decision to pick up this film for distribution.
